Events Beyond Business:
Masquerade Party – Join fellow attendees
and volunteers for a night of fun and food. The event is put on by our volunteers
and is sure to be a hit. The party theme is “Favorite Issue or Activist”.
There will be party prizes for everything from cheapest costume to most
elaborate costume, from the most imaginative to the most authentic and
more. The party takes place on Wednesday, May 21st around 7:00 PM. The
room for the party will be announced to our early arrivals.
"Do We Still NEED NASA?" with Richard
C. Hoagland – Mr. Hoagland will address the urgency to €œredefine
and refocus NASA on the critical 21st Century scientific, technological
and economic problems facing the United States during the next presidential
administration. He will also reveal --with official NASA imagery -- startling
scientific discoveries NASA, by law, has deliberately withheld from the
American people for more than 40 years! Mr. Hoagland has appeared all
over the nation and is often heard on Coast to Coast radio. His most
recent book, “Dark
Mission: the Secret History of NASA”, is a New York Times Bestseller.
This is an event not to be missed and is included FREE with your Congressional
or Aide package and above. For those not attending the convention or
with packages at a lower level, tickets are $25 per person. You may reserve
your seat by mailing a check to Denver LPCon 2008 (address below). Tickets
will also be sold at the door for this event. Friday, May 23, 6:30 PM.
An Evening with David Nolan – Wander back through the
years with one of the founders of the Libertarian Party. Ask why and how
of one of the greatest minds in the movement. Mr. Nolan served as the
first National Chairman of the Libertarian Party and served as the editor
of the LP News at times. He was the originator of the Nolan Chart, the
two-dimensional political map. He was selected for inclusion in "2000
Leading Intellectuals of the 20th Century," a reference work to be
published by the International Biographical Centre (Cambridge, England).
This open discussion begins directly after the Welcome reception on Thursday
evening, May 22. This is an open event. All convention package holders
are welcome.
White Water Rafting – arranged by your convention
organizers, this is a chance to take that white water rafting ride you’ve
always wanted. Travel down beautiful Clear Creek canyon during this half-day

U. S. Mint Tour – This has become a very popular event!

package. We do have to walk about two blocks from the hotel, so include
this in your exercise plan! This is a guided group tour through the Mint
itself and there are restrictions as to what can be brought on the tour.
Please look for more information in your attendee guide. This event does
take place before the beginning of the convention so call for times.
That All-American pastime, Baseball! – Colorado Rockies
vs. the Mets – Friday night, May 23rd at 7:05. Hop the
free shuttle to get closer to or walk from the hotel to this downtown
ballpark. Come and see the LP’s name in lights!

9/11 Justice Debate – Jim Duensing is putting together
a debate about the whole issue of 9/11. Who knew what, how did it happen,
what kind of questions have been answered or not been answered. Tentatively
Thursday, May 22 at 10:30 PM. Look for more information about this event
in your attendee packet.
